The T3 was the last Transporter with the classic, angular silhouette. It was an icon of freedom, a symbol of travel without limits, created to accompany you on every adventure.

Like the iconic T1 and T2, the T3 quickly gained popularity among tourists. It was relatively inexpensive to maintain, offered a large usable space and the high-roof versions allowed for comfortable preparation of all equipment inside, regardless of the weather.

The most classic version of the camper van, also available with a high roof, was a true "home on wheels". It was equipped with a comfortable bed, a folding table, a two-burner stove, a sink with a tap, 1-2 water tanks, cabinets, wardrobes and thermal insulation. Thanks to the more robust sheet metal than in the T2 model, many examples have survived to this day in excellent condition, despite hundreds of thousands of kilometers traveled across Europe and the world.

In the USA, the T3 model was known as the Volkswagen Vanagon. Westfalia versions were offered there in various configurations, and the top-of-the-line "Vanagon Westfalia Camper" became an icon of travel freedom and a lifestyle outside the box.
