Peco PL-43 Wheel Scraper

This excellent wheel scraper from Peco must be used in conjunction with Peco's PL-42 Wheel Cleaning Brush, which is sold separately.

Simply connect the wires from the brush and scraper directly to your layout power supply and apply them to the driving wheels, one on each side.

By passing current to the motor via the pick-up wheels, the driven wheels rotate, enabling dirt to be removed. The brush and scraper can also be used to clean undriven pickup wheels, rotating them by hand. In both cases, the use of the PL-70 Servicing Cradle will help protect the locomotive. 

Connect each lead to a 12V DC power output, one to each terminal. With the locomotive upside down, apply the scraper to the powered wheel on one side and the brush to a driving wheel on the other. With the power on, the wheels will revolve, enabling the dirt on the tyres to be removed by applying gentle pressure first with the scraper and then switching to the brush to finish.
