From 1948 onwards, Trent Motor Traction Company and East Midland formed part of the then privately owned British Electric Traction group and in 1969, all four of Mansfield’s bus operators became part of the National Bus Company. Before this time, Mansfield was unique in that it had four major bus operators in the town. A short time after, East Midland was sold by the NBC to Stagecoach where they continued to operate several Routemasters after the take-over.
